Hyderabad Task Force Registers NDPS Cases, Arrests Four Ganja Peddlers
Task Force Operations Across Three Police Station Limits
The Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone team of Hyderabad Police conducted multiple operations and apprehended four individuals involved in ganja transportation and distribution.
The action was carried out in coordination with staff from Attapur, Chandrayangutta and Mailardevpally Police Stations. During the operations, police seized 3.2 kilograms of dry ganja along with vehicles and mobile phones.
Three separate cases were registered under the NDPS Act following the arrests.

Three NDPS Cases Registered by Police
The cases were registered as Cr.No.285/2026 under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act at Attapur Police Station on 11-03-2026.
Another case, Cr.No.95/2026 under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act, was registered at Chandrayangutta Police Station on 11-03-2026.
The third case, Cr.No.230/2026 under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act, was registered at Mailardevpally Police Station on 12-03-2026.
Interstate Transporters Identified From Maharashtra
Police identified two interstate ganja transporters as Shaik Shoeb @ Chetan @ Shoeb, aged about 22 years, a truck driver from Gali No.11, Dabki Road, Akola City, Maharashtra, and Mohammad Nadeem, aged about 20 years, a denting and painting worker from Gali No.10, Dabki Road, Akola City, Maharashtra.
Investigators stated that the duo had been procuring ganja for several months and transporting it to Hyderabad by train before supplying it to local peddlers.
During the operation, police seized 1,750 grams of dry ganja and two mobile phones from their possession.
Local Peddlers Arrested in Separate Cases
In another case, Mohammed Jaweed @ Chicha @ Javeed, aged 54 years, an auto driver residing at Jalpally Gate, Shaheen Nagar, Balapur in Ranga Reddy district, was arrested.
Police described him as a habitual ganja peddler who was previously involved in 12 NDPS cases. He allegedly procured ganja from Mohd Shoib @ Shoib Nawab and sold it at higher prices in areas surrounding Chandrayangutta using his passenger auto.
Officials seized around one kilogram of dry ganja, a passenger auto and a mobile phone from him.
Another Accused Linked to Previous Robbery Cases
The fourth accused, Tarun Sharma, aged 23 years, runs a kirana business and resides near Sree Radha Krishna Temple in Ananya Colony, Shivarampally, Hyderabad.
Police said he had earlier been involved in five robbery cases. Investigators found that he procured ganja from Bidar and sold it to consumers in Shivarampally and nearby areas using a two-wheeler.
Officers seized 500 grams of dry ganja, a two-wheeler and one mobile phone from his possession.
Seized Material and Police Supervision
In total, police seized 3.2 kilograms of dry ganja valued at approximately Rs.1,60,000, along with a passenger auto, a two-wheeler and four mobile phones.
The total value of the seized property is estimated at about Rs.8,00,000.
The operations were carried out under the supervision of S. Saidababu, Inspector of Police, Charminar Zone Task Force. The team included Sub-Inspectors K. Rama Rao, M. Mahesh, M. Madhu and K. Swamy along with constables T. Prashanth, S. Bala Chander and P. Mahesh.
The operations were part of coordinated enforcement by the Commissioner’s Task Force and staff of Attapur, Chandrayangutta and Mailardevpally Police Stations.
