On the day of the incident, Bheeraiah reportedly began drilling another borewell at a different spot on the same land.
His wife, Jangamma, is said to have objected to the move and asked him not to continue with the drilling. The disagreement between the couple reportedly escalated during the day.

Mother Jumps Into Well With Children
In the aftermath of the dispute, Jangamma allegedly jumped into a nearby well along with her three children.
