Telangana Industries Minister Launches The Hartford Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad
First India Entry for The Hartford
Hyderabad has become the first base in India for The Hartford, with the launch of its Global Technology Centre in the Financial District. Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu formally announced the establishment of the facility on Monday.
The centre spans approximately 1,60,000 square feet and marks the company’s first operational presence in the country.
Focus on AI and Enterprise Technology Transformation
The new facility will function as a key hub in The Hartford’s enterprise-wide technology transformation programme. Its primary focus areas include artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and engineering development.
The centre is structured to operate in a start-up-like environment, enabling rapid prototyping and agile product development. It will also support cross-time-zone collaboration with the company’s technology teams in Hartford, Charlotte, Chicago, and Columbus.
Over the next few years, the facility is expected to scale up to nearly 1,200 employees as it expands its advanced digital and AI-driven capabilities for global operations.
Hyderabad’s Growing Global Capability Ecosystem
Speaking at the launch, Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said The Hartford’s decision to begin its India operations in Hyderabad reflects the city’s established position as a preferred destination for global technology centres.
He noted that Microsoft set up its first major development centre outside the United States in Hyderabad. Google also chose the city for its largest campus outside Mountain View.
In recent years, multinational firms such as McDonald’s, Vanguard, Dai-ichi Life, and Marriott International have established Global Capability Centres in Hyderabad. These centres focus on digital engineering, AI-led operations, and global service functions.
With the addition of The Hartford’s Global Technology Centre, Hyderabad continues to strengthen its profile as a hub for advanced technology, innovation, and enterprise transformation in India.
