High Court Rejects Mohan Babu’s Plea in Kidnap Case

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by actor and Mohan Babu University Chancellor, Manchu Mohan Babu, seeking protection from arrest in connection with the student leaders’ kidnap case.

Petition for Interim Relief Turned Down

Mohan Babu had requested interim orders to prevent his arrest and halt further proceedings. The court rejected the plea, stating that investigations were still underway and evidence was pending examination.

Justice Venkata Jyothirmayi, who heard the matter, noted that forensic reports on phone calls and text messages exchanged between Mohan Babu and the prime accused, university PRO Satish, were yet to be submitted. Police counsel informed the court that these communications occurred both before and after the alleged kidnapping incident.

Case Hearing Adjourned

The High Court adjourned the hearing on Mohan Babu’s petition to quash the case to March 3. Until then, the investigation will continue, with police expected to place forensic findings before the bench.
