Khammam Police Probe Fraud Using Minister’s Name
Fraud Case Surfaces Over Misuse of Minister’s Name in United Khammam District
A case of alleged cheating involving the misuse of a state minister’s name has come to light in the United Khammam district. Several individuals have lodged complaints with the police after realizing they were deceived with false promises of official positions and transfers.
Accused Posed as Influential Middleman
The accused has been identified as K. Ramakrishna, a resident of the United Khammam district and a native of the Kakinada region. He allegedly claimed to have close contacts in the Chief Minister’s Office, projecting himself as a person with access to key decision-makers.
Based on these claims, he reportedly approached political leaders, police personnel, and others seeking nominated posts or transfers.
Fake Posting Orders and Forged Signatures
Police complaints state that the accused created fake posting orders to lend credibility to his claims. These documents allegedly carried forged signatures of IAS and IPS officers, which were shown to victims as proof of official approval.
The forged papers are said to have played a key role in convincing people that the promised appointments and transfers were genuine and imminent.
Lakhs Collected in the Name of Appointments
Investigators have been informed that Ramakrishna collected lakhs of rupees from multiple individuals under the pretext of securing nominated positions and favourable transfers. The money was allegedly taken over time, with assurances that official orders would be issued shortly.
Victims reportedly continued payments, believing the accused’s repeated claims of influence within the administration.
Complaints Filed After Promises Fail
The matter came to the attention of the police after the promised postings and nominations did not materialise. Victims, suspecting fraud, approached the police and submitted formal complaints detailing the alleged deception.
Police are examining the forged documents and financial transactions mentioned in the complaints. Further action is expected based on the findings of the investigation, as authorities look into the extent of the alleged fraud and the number of people affected.
